'Anonymous' hacker group declares cyber war on Hong Kong government, police | South China Morning Post

Hacker group Anonymous has declared war on the Hong Kong government and hacked into a number of Hong Kong websites, citing the treatment of protesters during Occupy Central as the main impetus for the attack.
In a video sent to American news portal News2share on Wednesday, Anonymous compares the tear gas and pepper spray used by Hong Kong riot police on Occupy Central protesters to American police tactics used in Ferguson, Missouri earlier this year.

Crude Oil Prices Continue Decline, Dropping to Lowest Since 2012 - NYTimes.com

Crude oil prices accelerated their decline on Thursday, with the main international benchmark falling about 2 percent and the American equivalent dropping below $90 a barrel.
Now at their lowest levels since 2012, crude prices have been under pressure in recent months. The increase in global demand for oil this year is turning out to be slower because of weaker-than-anticipated growth in China and Europe, while oil supplies remain strong, leading to growing inventories.

The European Central Bank said it will start purchasing private sector assets as soon as this month, in an attempt to revive lending in the eurozone and stave off the risk of deflation.

As many as 100 people in Texas are being checked for exposure to Ebola, health officials have said.
The list includes "potential or possible contacts" with Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian national diagnosed in Dallas on Tuesday, and "will drop".

BBC News - EastEnders to reveal Lucy Beale's killer in live episode

The killer of EastEnders character Lucy Beale is to be unmasked during a special live broadcast to mark the soap's 30th anniversary next year.
Lucy was found dead on Walford Common in April, but viewers will not discover the identity of her killer until the anniversary in February.
The suspects so far include Jake Stone, Jay Brown and Billy Mitchell.
