An ISIS-inspired would-be suicide bomber set off a homemade explosive device at the Port Authority Bus Terminal subway station Monday morning, seriously wounding himself and injuring three others, law enforcement sources said.

英オックスフォード(Oxford)市は27日、イスラム系少数民族ロヒンギャ(Rohingya)の問題に積極的に対応していないことを理由に、ミャンマーのアウン・サン・スー・チー(Aung San Suu Kyi)国家顧問に授与した栄誉ある称号を剥奪したと発表した。スー・チー氏は同市にあるオックスフォード大学(University of Oxford)で学び、同市で子どもたちを育てていた。

96歳元ナチス親衛隊員に収監命令、禁錮4年「耐え得る」 独裁判所:AFPBB News

ドイツの裁判所は29日、元ナチス・ドイツ(Nazi)の親衛隊(SS)隊員で禁錮4年の判決を受けていたオスカー・グレーニング(Oskar Groening)被告(96)に対し、健康上の問題はないとして刑務所への収監命令を下した。戦後70年以上が経過し関係者の高齢化が進む中、異例の判断となった。
「アウシュビッツの簿記係」(Bookkeeper of Auschwitz)の異名で知られるグレーニング被告は、第2次世界大戦(World War II)中にナチスの強制収容所で犠牲となったユダヤ人ら30万人の殺人幇助(ほうじょ)罪で起訴され、2015年7月に禁錮4年の有罪判決を受けた。
